I’m 30, and married!

I recently went on a four-week trip to the Philippines, with an exciting three-day stopover in Los Angeles. During this trip, I celebrated my 30th birthday, got married, bought my mom her dream car, and explored a new city. It was a whirlwind of joy and unforgettable experiences.

My wedding planning started last May after I got engaged. We needed a year to save money, plan the theme, and organize everything to ensure our loved ones could come. It was a big task that took up a lot of my time, but I loved every moment of it.

Planning a wedding in another country had its challenges. The time difference made it hard to communicate with vendors, and the cultural differences in wedding traditions were a learning experience. I made a 29-page PowerPoint to show my vision and shared it with my wedding organizers. Some things went as planned, while others needed adjustments.

We had to make several compromises. We changed the color palette to match the available decorations, picked a different location due to unforeseen issues, and altered the bridal gown because, for the most part, it couldn’t fit me! There were tough moments, like when our initial venue fell through, I couldn’t help but cry. But in the end, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the new venue was logistically even better!

Planning a dream wedding is hard but worth it! Having the support of family and friends made all the difference.

    Rainy day

From the title itself. I love rainy days. It calms me. It’s like the universe telling me to relax, everything is going to okay. The cool and breezy temperature; island people need a break from summer too. Anyway, a lot has changed since I’ve last written in this blog. It’s been more than a month since I was present here.  Even the Blogspot interface has changed lol. I moved out of my old place, I’ve left my job, and after a month I’m finally starting a career at my dream workplace — a Swiss Bank. Phew. Such a life development. I am looking forward to a better work environment, supportive colleagues, and weekends finally! I can’t believe I’m having my weekends off again after two…

    My sweet trip to Jamaica

Hi friends! Last Friday I flew to Jamaica with the purpose of applying for US B1/B2 visa.  If you are wondering why I had to leave Cayman Islands, well that is because there is no US embassy here and the nearest one is in Kingston. My trip was only supposed to be over the weekend, but it turned out to be an entire week because… life happens! Right before I left, I was already feeling lethargic and called in sick from work. Then, one of my co-workers told me that someone from the office contracted covid. I hurriedly tested myself and just my luck, I tested positive too! ><” There were no restrictions to travellers anyway so I and my boyfriend still went and hopped…

    Life Update: Week 3

This week has been pretty mundane, nothing much about me. How about you? The things that kept me busy all week are errands for my workplace and mostly games. The island has been responding very positively on the restrictions set up by the government to prevent the spread of the virus (e.g. curfew, essential business operations, last name protocol, etc). They have been doing an feedback session every two weeks, and when circumstances are getting better, restrictions are being gradually lifted. Majority of the population are obedient with the policies in place that’s why we are now only on suppression level 3, coming from maximum suppression! Great job Cayman! Anyway, in another news, I downloaded the The Sims 2: Super Collection a couple of days…

    Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park

I’ve always wanted to visit this tourist attraction ever since I came to the island but never really got the chance to do so because I live on the other side. I’m not a green thumb or a plant/flower enthusiast but I love going to botanic parks because of a lot of prospective subject to practice my macro photography. It is also a nice place to unwind, have a quick stroll, and appreciate nature in its most natural form. Last week, after so many self persuasions I finally decided to get up and get ready on a Saturday morning to go to North Side and enjoy Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. It was very humid unfortunately so I ended up sweating all over throughout the…

  • Mundane Moments

Hey how is everyone doing? It’s been busy as usual for me, with work, business, errands, trying to get fit and a bunch of different things going on. It’s kind of hard to fit in documenting and sharing my life on social media these days. As you can see I am barely even writing anything on this space, well because of time limitations but mostly because what is even there to talk about? lol Anyway one day I had this bright idea of shamelessly filming myself to somehow show you guys how a simple day in my life is… and here it is. It was fun while it lasted but I have like 5% skills in video editing lol I hope I can be better…

    Coffee & Connect: Week 1

It’s Sunday. We made it through the week! So let me ask you something, how have you been? Well in my case, it’s a pretty normal week but a little more productive than the last one. Let me share my activities with you in bullets. Monday Went to work, nothing new except a ton of paperwork. Our business has been classified as “essential” so I spent some time to work in the office. Went home pretty early and played Mobile Legends with my friends. Watched Community on Netflix (already watched this when I was in college but it’s such a great sitcom I don’t mind rewatching it over and over again!) Started reading The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. Thanks for the recommendation Anika! Tuesday Impulsively…
