I’m 30, and married!

I recently went on a four-week trip to the Philippines, with an exciting three-day stopover in Los Angeles. During this trip, I celebrated my 30th birthday, got married, bought my mom her dream car, and explored a new city. It was a whirlwind of joy and unforgettable experiences.

My wedding planning started last May after I got engaged. We needed a year to save money, plan the theme, and organize everything to ensure our loved ones could come. It was a big task that took up a lot of my time, but I loved every moment of it.

Planning a wedding in another country had its challenges. The time difference made it hard to communicate with vendors, and the cultural differences in wedding traditions were a learning experience. I made a 29-page PowerPoint to show my vision and shared it with my wedding organizers. Some things went as planned, while others needed adjustments.

We had to make several compromises. We changed the color palette to match the available decorations, picked a different location due to unforeseen issues, and altered the bridal gown because, for the most part, it couldn’t fit me! There were tough moments, like when our initial venue fell through, I couldn’t help but cry. But in the end, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the new venue was logistically even better!

Planning a dream wedding is hard but worth it! Having the support of family and friends made all the difference.

This post is dedicated to my dear friend Bea, who has consistently been my pillar of support and a trusted confidant whenever I’ve needed someone to turn to. Sometimes, I have this nagging feeling that I don’t fit in with the people I am surrounded with. I’m just a simple girl who once dreamed of being among the most intelligent and successful people in society. Sometimes, I feel like I’ve finally made it; other times, I wonder if I deserve to be here. There are moments when I feel like I’m trying too hard to fit in. I’m not sure if I’ve grown or if I’m just acting as the person I eventually want to become. I grew up in a modest background in the…

    We got married!

I can’t believe it! I am now officially part of the married women club! Nothing much has changed, to be honest, given that my husband and I have been living like a married couple for a while now. But still, it’s nice to know that we’re now officially bound together for life.  We decided to get married in the Cayman Islands to avoid the tedious process of applying for a marriage license in the Philippines. We’ve been trying to sort out all the paperwork since January this year, but the back and forth of legal requirements took a lot of effort, time, and money. So, we decided to bypass all the red tape, get married locally, and do a destination wedding ceremony in the Philippines…

    7 things I learned at 26

I am now officially 26 years old. Yesterday was my birthday. But what does that even mean? The earth revolved around the sun 26 times since I was born? I guess as I grow older every year I also get less sentimental and more realistic. This year, celebrations don’t really matter much. I prefer spending the day in peace rather than in big crowd of people with a lot of small talks. I am bad at small talks. I am awkward and timid and don’t know what to say. This year and last year has been the most challenging and fruitful at the same time for me. I embarked on a new journey, alone, tried to do things out of my comfort zone even though…

    Life update (finally!)

Hi friends! It’s been a while. So many things has happened since I last checked in. First and foremost, congratulations to me – I passed CSC Vol. 1 Exam! I started studying for Vol. 2 immediately after though. I know, boo! It feels like its never going to end bubu!! but I’m giving myself until next year before my wedding to complete my certifications. To be quite honest,  there has been a lot of instances where I question myself…is this really the career I want? It is too late to switch? Don’t get me wrong, the moolah is good…  but it is very exhausting. Sometimes I straight up feel like I’m wasting my life with this. I don’t feel any sense of fulfilment. It’s not…

    Happy birthday, my love!

November 25 is my husbandโ€™s birthday, and this year we decided to take the whole day off just to be together. Nothing fancy or over the top. Just us, spending time and catching up on the things that actually matter. Most of the day was already set aside for his checkups anyway. He was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and since Iโ€™m pregnant, we figured itโ€™s the best time for both of us to start eating healthier and paying closer attention to our health. He was in the ICU at the end of October because of DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis). We were not aware of his condition. One day I just noticed his sudden weight-loss. He was lethargic so weak, I rushed him to the…
