Mundane Moments

Hey how is everyone doing? It’s been busy as usual for me, with work, business, errands, trying to get fit and a bunch of different things going on. It’s kind of hard to fit in documenting and sharing my life on social media these days. As you can see I am barely even writing anything on this space, well because of time limitations but mostly because what is even there to talk about? lol

Anyway one day I had this bright idea of shamelessly filming myself to somehow show you guys how a simple day in my life is… and here it is. It was fun while it lasted but I have like 5% skills in video editing lol I hope I can be better as I do more of these types of videos!

    Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park

I’ve always wanted to visit this tourist attraction ever since I came to the island but never really got the chance to do so because I live on the other side. I’m not a green thumb or a plant/flower enthusiast but I love going to botanic parks because of a lot of prospective subject to practice my macro photography. It is also a nice place to unwind, have a quick stroll, and appreciate nature in its most natural form. Last week, after so many self persuasions I finally decided to get up and get ready on a Saturday morning to go to North Side and enjoy Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. It was very humid unfortunately so I ended up sweating all over throughout the…

    Coming back home

The first stop in our four-country, three-week vacation was the Philippines. We wanted to spend time with family and do some shopping before heading to our next destination. With some recent life changes, I know I might not be able to visit home as often, so I wanted to make the most of this trip. It was raining when we landed. A typhoon had just hit, so the weather was pretty gloomy and wet. That same day, the news was full of stories about a huge rally on the infamous flood control project. It was on the radio, TV, and social media. The whole country was talking about it. Even with all that going on, I noticed how much the Philippines has changed. There were…

Planning a Wedding: My Journey and Tips for Future Brides

As I’ve mentioned in my previous posts, I recently got married. The journey to make the event happen took a year of planning, with many adjustments along the way. Today, I want to share my experience with you, hoping it will help if you are a future bride. Every couple’s situation is unique. In my case, I did all the planning from the Cayman Islands while the wedding took place in the Philippines. Fortunately, I have a supportive mother who handled the groundwork and a fantastic wedding planner with all the right contacts. It was a team effort that made everything possible. Before diving into the details, it’s important to note that having a supportive family and a reliable wedding planner plays a crucial role…

  • The Pirates Week

    The Pirates Week

Hello everyone, welcome to another Anywhere with Choi. Today I’m going to take you with me to The Pirates Week Festival 2019. I’m not sure if we are going to have it this year, hopefully we do, but with all that’s going on around the world I doubt it. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and let’s appreciate Cayman Islands once more in this national festival. What is Pirates Week? It is a week long celebration of Cayman’s pirate folklore and culture. It is a ten fun filled days of music, street dances, competitions, games, food festivals of traditional dishes and drinks, a Pirate Pooch Parade, a childrenโ€™s fun day, teen dances, two glittering parades, sporting events for all ages, a pirate invasion and…

    Halloween in Cayman Islands 2020

Hey guys, you might have already read my post the other day about The Hallotober Tag. I mentioned there that I love Halloween because I like dressing up, going to parties, and having fun on spooky community events. Last year, I went on a Halloween party bus (with missions and games) and since then I’ve always looked forward to this years event.  My costume was ready since the beginning of the year. Yes, that’s how excited I was! I even signed up on three events: Fright Fest: The Strand Block Party, Nightmare on Walker’s Road, and Dead On Arrival: All Inclusive Halloween Event. Finally, the wait is over! This year, I dressed up as… *drum roll please*… Sailor Moon! The Fright Fest is an annual event and has…

Decoding ‘Billions’: An Investment Professional’s Perspective”

I recently discovered a Netflix series called “Billions” (I know I’m late! Almost everyone in my workplace watched it years ago). I was amazed by the series because it provides great detail about the investment industry. I’ve watched many series where the main characters are doctors, art curators, book editors/publishers, and physicists, but never one about a portfolio manager. So, you can imagine my excitement when I finally found a series representing my profession. I’m currently on the 8th episode, and I can’t help but wonder how people outside of the industry perceive us after watching it. I wonder if they are curious about how much of what is shown on TV happens in real life. The answer is quite simple. Like most TV series,…
