Mundane Moments

Hey how is everyone doing? It’s been busy as usual for me, with work, business, errands, trying to get fit and a bunch of different things going on. It’s kind of hard to fit in documenting and sharing my life on social media these days. As you can see I am barely even writing anything on this space, well because of time limitations but mostly because what is even there to talk about? lol

Anyway one day I had this bright idea of shamelessly filming myself to somehow show you guys how a simple day in my life is… and here it is. It was fun while it lasted but I have like 5% skills in video editing lol I hope I can be better as I do more of these types of videos!

    November 25 is my husbandโ€™s birthday, and this year we decided to take the whole day off just to be together. Nothing fancy or over the top. Just us, spending time and catching up on the things that actually matter. Most of the day was already set aside for his checkups anyway. He was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and since Iโ€™m pregnant, we figured itโ€™s the best time for both of us to start eating healthier and paying closer attention to our health.     This trip to Japan was so unexpected. Me, my husband, my mom, my uncle, and my auntie all ended up going together. Thereโ€™s been a lot of drama with my mom lately, and I just wanted to take her somewhere new, somewhere she could breathe for a bit. I also havenโ€™t seen my cousin in years, so I thought, why not visit her in Tokyo? Then I invited my uncle and auntie too, hoping we could all have a happy, peaceful vacation as a family. I only had three weeks of vacation left for the year. I already used one week in Jamaica back in May and another week in Manila, so this basically gives me one week in Japan and one week in Korea…

    Since it’s almost carnival season (but has been postponed until further notice), I will take you to trip down memory lane with me in last years celebration! Batabano Carnival  is an annual festival held in the Cayman Islands every month of May. The island is home to more than a hundred nationalities, most (if not all) of which participate in light of community spirit. It is a cultural celebration filled with music, dance, food, costumes, heritage and culture, and ofcourse booze! lol. It is a pretty young carnival that has only been going on for 30 years (thanks to Rotary Club!)     I am a “bayer” now, that’s what they say. Although my daddy was originally from East End, I am spending the rest of my conscious life here on the west side.
