Motherโs Day and Birthday Celebrations
On May 10, my family celebrated both Motherโs Day and my momโs birthday at the Lobster Pot in George Town. Ever since my mom arrived on the island, she had been talking about wanting to eat lobster, so we figured there was no better place to take her than Lobster Pot.

We had originally requested an outdoor table when making our reservation because we thought it would be nice to enjoy the waterfront views. Little did we know it was going to be scorching hot that day! On top of that, the restaurant was packed with families celebrating Motherโs Day. We ended up waiting a while before we could finally be accommodated inside.

For those who havenโt been, Lobster Pot is one of Caymanโs long-standing waterfront restaurants, known for its fresh seafood and beautiful harbour views. It has been around for decades and is a popular choice for both locals and visitors looking for classic seafood dishes in a relaxed setting.
We decided to order ร la carte instead of going for the all-you-can-eat option. While the buffet looked tempting, it was a bit pricey and honestly, we were mainly there for the lobster. None of us are big drinkers either, so we didnโt feel the need to get our moneyโs worth from the unlimited drinks.

Two weeks later, it was my turn to celebrate my birthday. This time, we went for a Sunday brunch buffet at SeaRock in George Town. SeaRock offers a more modern dining experience and is known for its waterfront location, fresh seafood selection, and extensive brunch buffet. The atmosphere felt relaxed and family-friendly, making it a great spot for a weekend celebration.
My mom was still in a seafood mood, so that naturally influenced our choice once again. As usual, it was the five of us together. My husband, my step-daughter, my mom, my baby, and me.

The buffet was great, and we had a really nice view while enjoying brunch. My mom and stepdaughter probably enjoyed it the most since they both love buffets and were excited to try a little bit of everything.

As it got closer to 3 PM, the music became more upbeat, and my husband jokingly said it felt like we were at a club. Of course, we took advantage of the moment and did a little photoshoot around the area because everything looked so aesthetic. It was one of those fun, spontaneous moments that made the day even more memorable and gave us plenty of photos to look back on.

Lately, Iโve been realizing how much I value these simple family moments. Good food, shared conversations, and celebrating milestones. None of it is particularly grand, but somehow those are the moments that stay with me the longest.
This year has been full of changes, challenges, and new beginnings. Being able to spend time with the people I love most reminds me that at the end of the day, thatโs what matters. The meals eventually end, birthdays come and go, but the memories we create together are the things we carry with us long after.
