The global health crisis has brought almost all nations into community quarantine, and here in Cayman, we are not an exemption. The government has recently mandated a lot of businesses to temporarily close due to the recent developments with the pandemic. As we speak, we have 9 active cases here on island, and the best measures the authority came up with are: Twenty-four (24) hour curfew (we literally panicked buy yesterday because no one is allowed to go out!), Island-wide lock down (airport is closed for passenger planes, only cargo is allowed), and To temporarily shut down non-essential business, causing a lot of employees to be laid off. And you guessed it right, I was laid off for two weeks with nothing much to do…

Today was one of those slow-paced Sundays where we didn’t really have a plan—we just drove around Mandeville with no particular destination in mind. Most of the shops were closed (as expected in the countryside on a Sunday), but that didn’t stop us from exploring and soaking up the scenery. One of the most interesting places we passed by was what my husband calls the “Red Lake.” He told me that when he was a little boy, people believed the lake turned red because nearby factories used to dump chemical waste into it. 😳 These days, it’s no longer a lake—just a wide expanse of reddish dirt. It’s currently 9:39 PM. I’m alone in my apartment, enjoying a cup of coffee. It’s nice to relax and have some me-time after a busy month. I recently read our company policy and learned that we should be careful about putting our names out on the internet and avoid associating the company’s name with personal matters. It’s that time of the month again, Halloween! This day last year I was on an adventure in Miami by myself. I was feeling nostalgic so I rummaged through my old blog and found this post about my trip. Definitely enjoyed my solitude in this one. This has been a long overdue post but I’d like to share with you some snippets of my short but sweet trip to Miami! Hey everyone, how have you been? For me, I’ve been busy as usual with my revisions, work, and life in general. I have been under a lot of pressure lately so I decided to unwind this weekend by going to Red Sky at Night event. When I was still in the Philippines, I loved going to events like this especially those that involved arts and culture. Red Sky at Night showcases work of local artisans and also celebrates culture of residents who where originally from different parts of the world. There were live performances, music, food, arts and crafts, games and activities for children (and adults also!). Here are some of the snippets I took from the event.

I’ve never been on a party bus before EVER – so imagine my excitement when I found out that Star FM is hosting a halloween bus party! There are 4 buses, 4 mystery stops (with games & missions), and 1 exclusive after party! Starting point is at the courtyard across the radio station in George Town and where the bus is going?
