Saturday nights at Cotton Club

“Is there anything else you do on Saturdays aside from clubbing?” Short answer is, no! In this small island there is not much of a variety of fun activities to do on weekends apart from beaching so yeah. This is what “Caymanian kids nowadays” do most of the time. What I like about the night life here is that girls wear literally whatever they want without being judged or bodyshamed. As a woman that is one of the most liberating feelings you could possbily feel.

It also keeps my creative juices flowing esp on outfit ideas and accessorizing. In the photo above I was only wearing a gray sports bra and an office skirt – but it turned out not so bad!

    Coming back home

The first stop in our four-country, three-week vacation was the Philippines. We wanted to spend time with family and do some shopping before heading to our next destination. With some recent life changes, I know I might not be able to visit home as often, so I wanted to make the most of this trip. It was raining when we landed. A typhoon had just hit, so the weather was pretty gloomy and wet. That same day, the news was full of stories about a huge rally on the infamous flood control project. It was on the radio, TV, and social media. The whole country was talking about it. Even with all that going on, I noticed how much the Philippines has changed. There were…

    Life Update: Week 3

This week has been pretty mundane, nothing much about me. How about you? The things that kept me busy all week are errands for my workplace and mostly games. The island has been responding very positively on the restrictions set up by the government to prevent the spread of the virus (e.g. curfew, essential business operations, last name protocol, etc). They have been doing an feedback session every two weeks, and when circumstances are getting better, restrictions are being gradually lifted. Majority of the population are obedient with the policies in place that’s why we are now only on suppression level 3, coming from maximum suppression! Great job Cayman! Anyway, in another news, I downloaded the The Sims 2: Super Collection a couple of days…

Journey to Self-Discovery: From Humble Beginnings to High Society

This post is dedicated to my dear friend Bea, who has consistently been my pillar of support and a trusted confidant whenever I’ve needed someone to turn to. Sometimes, I have this nagging feeling that I don’t fit in with the people I am surrounded with. I’m just a simple girl who once dreamed of being among the most intelligent and successful people in society. Sometimes, I feel like I’ve finally made it; other times, I wonder if I deserve to be here. There are moments when I feel like I’m trying too hard to fit in. I’m not sure if I’ve grown or if I’m just acting as the person I eventually want to become. I grew up in a modest background in the…

    Fun day with my angels

I feel like my insomnia is a symptom of something more serious. I’ve been restless for weeks now. I am already on Zopiclone and Zoloft yet I feel like none of them are working? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I feel so dry, nothing seems to be interesting to me anymore. I even went as far as googling “how to find new hobbies” lol I’m desperate. I guess it really hit me when my friend said blogging is a waste of time and that she can’t fathom why I would want to share my personal business online. I’ve been blogging since 2006 and somehow this has been my “hobby”… and the first time I opened it up to my friend she said she is never going to read it….

Ocho Rios Day 3: Dunn’s River Falls; Montego Bay, and Holland Bamboo

We woke up bright and earlyโ€”againโ€”to pack up for the day. First stop: Dunnโ€™s River Falls in Ocho Rios, then off to Montego Bay! Even though our legs were still recovering from yesterdayโ€™s Mystic Mountain adventure, there was no way we were skipping this iconic Jamaican gem. Dunnโ€™s River Falls is one of Jamaicaโ€™s most famous natural attractionsโ€”think cascading limestone terraces and cool mountain spring water rushing all the way down to the beach. Itโ€™s not just pretty to look at; people actually climb up the falls, making it part adventure, part nature therapy. ๐ŸŒฟ Seeing the falls in person was a bit surprising. Photos online make it look huge, and while itโ€™s definitely not Niagara-level tall, itโ€™s still a breathtaking sight. The sound of…

    Halloween 2022

Hi friends! This is me trying to update my dusty old blog lol. As you all know, halloween is one of my favourite events in the year mainly because I love seeing people dressed up not just in spooky costumes but creative and cute ones as well! And since I’m a fan of Brooklyn Nine Nine’s halloween specials, I incorporated the same idea in my workplace. I recently joined the social committee and immediately took dibs of organising halloween this year. Last year, we had a spontaneous party and awards for best costume and best decor. So I thought of doing the same, but with one more additional competition: Amazing Race – Halloween Edition! I was not given any budget for this social so I…
