Life Update: Week 4

Hi friends! How are you? I haven’t been able to update this blog as much as I wanted to, but it is not by choice! I have been swamped the past couple of weeks…😓 Indeed 2023 started with a bang! At work, we have a major issue that my team had to help resolve. When I say major, it is reportable to the ombudsman major! It has been very stressful and challenging trying to fix something that we did not create in the first place, much less totally avoidable! It is disappointing as well that the moment the risk was identified, the most plausible solution was ignored. Ironically, nobody want this escalated, yet they escalate the most little things on a daily basis. So politically motivated…

I feel like my insomnia is a symptom of something more serious. I’ve been restless for weeks now. I am already on Zopiclone and Zoloft yet I feel like none of them are working? 😩 I feel so dry, nothing seems to be interesting to me anymore. I even went as far as googling “how to find new hobbies” lol I’m desperate. I guess it really hit me when my friend said blogging is a waste of time and that she can’t fathom why I would want to share my personal business online. I’ve been blogging since 2006 and somehow this has been my “hobby”… and the first time I opened it up to my friend she said she is never going to read it….

As mentioned in my previous blog post, I recently got a job at my dream company, a Swiss bank. It is located at one of Grand Cayman’s hot spots for tourists, Camana Bay. I remember my first visit there as a tourist, it almost felt like I’m back in Bonifacio Global City. The location is very aesthetic and it houses almost every essential establishment you could think of. There is a bookstore, numerous restaurants and cafe’s, clinics, cinema for leisure, mini gardens for picnic, and ofcourse the Fosters (the grocery store) is just a few steps away.  Definitely, having your workplace there is such a privilege. I was at work having lunch earlier today, I was browsing through my bloglist, and I came across this article entitled Is there still a place for personal blog posts? The moment I saw the title I was like, how can you read my mind?! I was thinking the exact same thing. When I started blogging years ago, the blogs I follow are purely personal. Whenever I visit their page I feel like I was reading someone else’s diary. It was so therapeutic indulging in their thoughts. I felt like I had a genuine connection with them even though I was just a silent reader and don’t really comment.
