Catching up

Hey! Just in case you are wondering, I’m doing okay. Yesterday I went out on a lunch with my nephew at a Vivo Restaurant in West Bay, five minutes away from my workplace. It’s my first time eating vegan and I must say it’s not that bad. It’s just costly lol.

I’m starting to focus on holistic recovery for myself. I recently enrolled in Yoga classes (Yin and Vinyasa) and I’m trying to condition my mind to always have a positive outlook in life.

I cut-off almost all my social media presence (except twitter and blogspot) and it is doing me good mentally so far. I have also engrossed myself over Crash Landing On You, you guys should watch it too! It’s a K-drama with a lot of life lessons and revelations about North Korea.
Anyway that’s it for now — It’s 5:30pm, I’m about to go home and binge watch you know what!

Let me end this post with a smiling face~

Toronto Day 2: Royal Ontario Museum and Eaton Centre

Today’s itinerary is more relaxed than Day 1. I had initially planned for a busy day, but we decided to take it easy. As usual, we ordered Jollibee for breakfast and headed straight to the first on our list — the Royal Ontario Museum. It is easy to commute here since the museum is just right as you exit the University Line – Museum Station. To get to the subway, we took a bus. It was raining and extra cold – but nothing could stop us! The Royal Ontario Museum is so huge. I can’t remember the last time I went to a museum, so I am amazed by their art collection. Apart from Canadian pieces, they also have European, Asian, Asia-Pacific, Middle Eastern, and…

    The Pirates Week

Hello everyone, welcome to another Anywhere with Choi. Today I’m going to take you with me to The Pirates Week Festival 2019. I’m not sure if we are going to have it this year, hopefully we do, but with all that’s going on around the world I doubt it. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and let’s appreciate Cayman Islands once more in this national festival. What is Pirates Week? It is a week long celebration of Cayman’s pirate folklore and culture. It is a ten fun filled days of music, street dances, competitions, games, food festivals of traditional dishes and drinks, a Pirate Pooch Parade, a childrenโ€™s fun day, teen dances, two glittering parades, sporting events for all ages, a pirate invasion and…

    Batabano Carnival 2023

Yesterday my boyfriend and I decided to watch this year’s Batabano parade. It was actually a spur of the moment decision. Since we have gotten much older, we don’t really enjoy being out in the sun while walking and dancing anymore. I would say, the first time I watched Batabano, I was so mesmerised by the vibrant costumes and the overall representation of the Caribbean culture. However, like most things, my ‘utility’ with island-wide events have been ‘marginally diminishing’ quite quickly than I expected. In my opinion, Batabano Carnival has lost its spark post-pandemic. It’s either the pandemic took a toll on people, or CayMas (a privately organised carnival) has become more popular and overshadowed Batabano. As you might notice from my previous posts, I’ve…

  • CayMas among other things

    CayMas among other things

I’m so terrible at keeping my blog active, na tru? A lot has been going on quite recently. Apart from still learning about my current role in my new workplace, I am also studying for 4 upcoming exams: CSC 1, CSC 2, CPH, and Options/Derivatives. I’ve mentioned this numerous times in the past and I know I sound like a broken record because that’s about the only thing I ever talk about! But really — I work from 8:30am-4:30pm, study on lunch breaks, attend study group session from 4:30PM to 7PM, every single day. I only have a window of time on Saturdays to sleep, do house chores, run some errands, date night with hubby-to-be, or watch netflix! Then on Sundays I go meet up…

    Life Update: Week 2

Hey everyone, how have you been? To be honest, my week was somehow mediocre. It is not necessarily unproductive, but it isn’t as productive as I would like it to be as well. Unlike most people, I physically go to work every other day, and when I’m not, I’m either doing house chores, groceries, or bank runs. I thought everything was okay, until yesterday. To my surprise, I had a really bad panic attack. I thought I stopped having those a long time ago? It has gotten worse from how it used to be before. I was just having my dinner, and the next thing I know I was crying over my food, catching my breath; my hands numb and shaking. I had no idea…

  • The Hallotober Tag

    The Hallotober Tag

I know it’s late to do the Hallotober tag since it’s November in like two days, but I’d like to go and participate in it anyway! Thanks to Izzy for tagging me, and Jordanne for this idea! Halloween has always been my favorite part of the year. I know some people would say Halloween isn’t something to be celebrated because of its origins, but common guys, it’s 2020! Halloween is fun because you can dress up as literally anyone and go to spooky parties! It’s that one time of the year where everybody suddenly becomes a cosplayer; and everybody suddenly has a supernatural experience to share. I love watching horror movies with my friends and be frightened with them, I don’t know, it makes me…
