Today’s my birthday!๐Ÿฅณ

I’m spending it here in Jamaica with my husband, in his hometown. It’s a little extra special this year because tomorrow also happens to be our first wedding anniversary.

Getting here was a bit hectic. I worked from 8:30AM until 3:30PM yesterday, rushed to the airport for our 5:30PM flight, landed and cleared immigration by 7:30PM, picked up the rental car, and then drove another 2.5 hours โ€” well, he drove not me lol

It was my husband’s first time seeing his brother in a while, and his mom is also visiting at the same time (she’s based in the U.S.), so we ended up hanging out late. Around 1 AM, they surprised me with a birthday cake and sang happy birthday โ€” I wasn’t expecting it at all. It was a simple moment, but really thoughtful and sweet. We finally went to bed around 2:30 AM.

And stillโ€ฆ I woke up at 6:30 AM like clockwork. Doesn’t matter if I’m tired, if it’s the weekend, or even if I’m on vacation. ๐Ÿ˜…

Spent the rest of the day hanging out with family, did a bit of grocery shopping, and of course, my favorite thing โ€” a nice, quiet afternoon nap.

Can’t wait for whatever tomorrow brings! ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

Since I got pregnant and gave birth, I pretty much abandoned this blog. What a shame, honestly. This used to be my little diary, my safe space on the internet. But I guess Iโ€™m in a new era now, and any tiny pocket of free time I get, I just choose sleep. Or at least lying down and staring at the ceiling in silence. Having a baby is no joke. I have a whole new level of respect for all the moms out there, especially the single moms. This is hard. And thatโ€™s coming from someone who has so much support: a stable job with maternity benefits, a loving husband, and a supermom who will take over baby duties the moment I say โ€œMama, Iโ€™m…

    Saturday nights at Cotton Club

“Is there anything else you do on Saturdays aside from clubbing?” Short answer is, no! In this small island there is not much of a variety of fun activities to do on weekends apart from beaching so yeah. This is what “Caymanian kids nowadays” do most of the time. What I like about the night life here is that girls wear literally whatever they want without being judged or bodyshamed. As a woman that is one of the most liberating feelings you could possbily feel. It also keeps my creative juices flowing esp on outfit ideas and accessorizing. In the photo above I was only wearing a gray sports bra and an office skirt – but it turned out not so bad! ___ Anywhere with…

Hey! Just in case you are wondering, I’m doing okay. Yesterday I went out on a lunch with my nephew at a Vivo Restaurant in West Bay, five minutes away from my workplace. It’s my first time eating vegan and I must say it’s not that bad. It’s just costly lol. I’m starting to focus on holistic recovery for myself. I recently enrolled in Yoga classes (Yin and Vinyasa) and I’m trying to condition my mind to always have a positive outlook in life. I cut-off almost all my social media presence (except twitter and blogspot) and it is doing me good mentally so far. I have also engrossed myself over Crash Landing On You, you guys should watch it too! It’s a K-drama with…

Fun things to do in Cayman, other than water sports!

Hey everyone! How was your week? Mine has been pretty hectic, a lot of changes in my workplace and I had to take on a big responsibility all of a sudden. I spend my 7 hours at work fully and productively. After work I roam around West Bay and George Town to practice my driving skills, and do some errands every now and then. Sometimes I feel like all I ever do is work, eat, and sleep! Anyway, back to what I was saying, my mentor resigned effective immidiately before I was fully trained so I had to take on the responsibility earlier than expected, with support only from the offshore team. So much drama and tea! Well I could feel that she wasn’t really…

Hi friends! How are you? I haven’t been able to update this blog as much as I wanted to, but it is not by choice! I have been swamped the past couple of weeks…๐Ÿ˜“ Indeed 2023 started with a bang! At work, we have a major issue that my team had to help resolve. When I say major, it is reportable to the ombudsman major! It has been very stressful and challenging trying to fix something that we did not create in the first place, much less totally avoidable! It is disappointing as well that the moment the risk was identified, the most plausible solution was ignored. Ironically, nobody want this escalated, yet they escalate the most little things on a daily basis. So politically motivated…
