Halloween in Cayman Islands 2020

Hey guys, you might have already read my post the other day about The Hallotober Tag. I mentioned there that I love Halloween because I like dressing up, going to parties, and having fun on spooky community events. Last year, I went on a Halloween party bus (with missions and games) and since then I’ve always looked forward to this years event.

My costume was ready since the beginning of the year. Yes, that’s how excited I was! I even signed up on three events: Fright Fest: The Strand Block Party, Nightmare on Walker’s Road, and Dead On Arrival: All Inclusive Halloween Event. Finally, the wait is over! This year, I dressed up as… *drum roll please*… Sailor Moon!

The Fright Fest is an annual event and has always been my favorite because for only $20, you get access to 4 venues in The Strand and they blocked off the area so it’s exclusive! Also, since it’s an annual event, people look forward to it and they make sure to flaunt their amazing costumes! My top favorites are: Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy (from Spongebob Squarepants); and Gaara and Kankuro (from Naruto)! Omg guys, Naruto made it in the Cayman Islands! I didn’t know these people watch asian anime!

Nightmare on Walker’s Road is a pretty spontaneous decision I made since I didn’t pre-order tickets for it. By the time I arrived, they were letting in the last batch for the season! I made it by a hair! I was with high school kids mostly and younger ones trick-or-treating around the area. It’s the first time I’ve tried a “horror house” here in Cayman because it really wasn’t a thing. I know in the Philippines there are a lot of fun activities out there, but this thing is so new here that I got so excited I felt like I was doing it for the first time. Basically, it’s a empty lot with cargo containers and old creepy school bus that they decorated. You follow a pathway and get spooked by the actors as walk. Fee is only $10 and all proceeds go to charity. The event is sponsored by Home Gas and The Rotary Club. It was such a fun experience!

Dead On Arrival: All Inclusive Halloween Event is last but not the least on the agenda this season. For $50, admission, full bar + shots, specialty drinks, and canape are included. The twist? It’s on a secret location and nobody knows where it is! The location was revealed shortly before the gates opened that same night. I definitely had fun dancing to songs, I haven’t been clubbing in a while. Since it’s a Saturday, the event ended at 12 midnight. So quick though! Just when we were about to get drunk lol. Nevertheless, it was a great afterparty and Halloween ender for me!

So how was your Halloween? I know the rest of the world is still in lockdown but I hope you get to enjoy being with your friends and spook yourselves a little bit this year. Til next time!

  1. We had a very low key Hallowe'en with some games and toasting marshmallows – no trick or treating this year, sadly, fingers crossed for next year!

  2. Oh wow this looks so much fun! You definitely know how to celebrate Halloween!
Unfortunaly in Italy we are in a lockdown and anyway there are no such events here.. but I love to create a different cosplay every year, that's my way to celebrate it, and I did it this year too πŸ™‚
    Love your costume btw!

  3. Yes unfortunately with the pandemic and all it's better to stay at home. Thankfully here in Cayman cases are so low and we are not in lockdown. Kids get to enjoy trick or treating. Hopefully next year it gets better!

  4. Yes I make sure every year I dress up! Lockdown surely takes out all the fun, but always better safe than sorry πŸ™‚ You can still do your cosplay, take selfies, and share it with us so its as if you are "virtually" joining the fun! I will look forward your cosplay costume next year!

It looks like you had so much fun! I used to love dressing up and having a party for Halloween. We didn't really do much this year as we were both working and the restrictions in the UK. Can't wait to see your costume next year!

Seems like you had a fun time! I spent Halloween at my sister's house and we baked and help her finish moving things into her new house. I did wear my unicorn kiguruumi and dressed my dog in a costume. haha β™₯
